In cooperation with expert physicians, InfaScan Diagnostic Services offers a valuable service with its Apnea Monitor Data Management Program. This program was designed to aid in the management of patients at home on apnea monitors by providing the download and review of event waveform data and a physician’s interpretation.
This program was developed to allow the prescribing physician and the Home Medical Equipment (HME) dealer access to expert analysis and interpretation of apnea monitor waveform data, thus, providing support for the prescribing physician and a more responsible way for the homecare provider to manage its home apnea monitors.
Most state Medicaid programs as well as the vast majority of private insurance companies and HMO’s reimburse for this service. This service is covered by the majority of insurance policies which allows the home health care provider to offer this service to its referring physicians with NO COST TO THE HME PROVIDER.* * Insurance pre-authorization for this service, if required, is the responsibility of the HME dealer.
To ensure a better understanding, we have prepared a report for you.
A simple FOUR STEP PROCESS is required to participate in this program:
1. DEALER ENROLLMENT – one time enrollment
2. PATIENT ENROLLMENT
3. AUTHORIZATION OF BENEFITS – one time enrollment
4. CLINICAL INFORMATION – sent with every download
whitespace
The analysis of the data will be performed by InfaScan Diagnostic Services. This would include the downloading and review of all event data and generation of a report. The information will then be forwarded to a board certified neonatologist or pediatric pulmonologist for interpretation and a recommendation. The final report will then be sent by FAX or E-mail to the HME provider and the prescribing physician within 24 hours of receipt of the data. InfaScan Diagnostic Services is responsible for safely archiving all patient data.
If insurance verification cannot be obtained for this service, the HME provider has the option of dropping the patient from the program or directly paying for the service.
